Strategy Session for 8th Grade Families

Service Description

This session is ideal for students who will matriculate through public high schools in California, our area of expertise, where counselor-to-student ratios are high and personalized guidance may be limited. During this strategy session, I'll give you a quick overview of the college admissions landscape and how choosing the right classes and doing well in them is one of the most important factors for the holistic admissions process. Your child's high school's graduation requirements don't necessarily match the requirements needed for the UC/Cal State system and/or selective 4 year colleges. Therefore, I'll help plot out your child's potential 4 years of courses based on his/her current interests so that all college options remain available. I'll explain various pathways and make suggestions for elective courses, summer school, and balancing rigor (Honors and Advanced Placement courses). Of course, I understand interests can change over time, but maximizing 8th grade summer and 9th grade course options will help your child fulfill requirements for graduation and meet pre-requisites for future coursework. This strategy session costs $500 for up to a 2 hour consultation, and is payable by credit card at the time of booking. An automated meeting confirmation will be emailed to you.
